Update (8/24/2020): We’ve received a few questions about the textbook. You can purchase it at the Follett (campus bookstore) website at https://www.bkstr.com/virginiatechstore/home. You will have three options for receiving the access code for the digital textbook: 1) pick up the card with the access code printed on it at Follett campus bookstore in Blacksburg; 2) have the card with the access code printed on it shipped to you; or 3) enter a special instruction when you purchase the card and ask to have the access code sent to you by email.


The Composition Program’s textbook in 2020-2021 is as shown in Figure 1, an updated custom edition. Due to the global health pandemic and uncertainty about course formats appropriate throughout the Fall 2020 semester, the program leadership team is arranging with the publisher for a fully online version of the textbook in VitalSource. We’ve confirmed with the publisher and bookstore that the sticker price will be 48 USD. The ISBN shown here is updated and accurate.

From Fall 2019 through Summer 2020, the program-wide textbook is a Virginia Tech custom edition of Understanding Rhetoric, 2nd ed. The VT custom edition has been ordered for all sections of ENGL1105 and ENGL1106. It will be available for 68 USD in university bookstores.
