Description: In this course, students will employ various writing processes and research strategies to engage with the course inquiry topic, Writing About Language. Students will analyze research methods and methodologies in the field of Rhetoric and Composition/Writing Studies to design and conduct their own research projects that critically engage with the voices of others. Furthermore, students’ engagement with the course inquiry topic will support them in developing and enacting critical language awareness—an awareness of the socio-political phenomena shaping language use and language ideologies. Throughout the course, students will assemble and organize a course portfolio representing multi-week writing processes, including planning, drafting, revising, editing, and reflection.
